More information about Patricia Blake and her works:
Patricia Clark Blake is a lifelong educator. Now retired from the Arkansas public school system, she spends her time writing and reading in her favorite genre, historical fiction. She holds degrees from Arkansas State University in English, Reading Education, and Counseling Psychology. During her career, she taught students from seventh grade to master-level college students.

Known as Pat to her friends, Blake has published in juried psychological journals, but the Shiloh Saga novels are her first attempts at writing fiction. Her proposal for ‘Til Shiloh Come won an award from the Blue Ridge Christian Novel Competition in 2016. This proposal eventually became The Shiloh Saga: In Search of Shiloh, The Dream of Shiloh, Beyond Shiloh, Shadows Over Shiloh, and ‘Til Shiloh Come. These books are the story of a frontier family carving out a life in the new state of Arkansas, beginning in 1857 with an arranged marriage and ending with the close of the Civil War. In 2022, ‘Til Shiloh Come took second place in a national readers competition, The Angel Awards. The same novel was awarded second place in the Blue Lake Writers Competition in 2022.

The new novel, No Man’s Chattel is the sixth book by Blake. Unlike the Shiloh Saga, this book, recounting the struggle through reconstruction, is a single volume. Like her other works, this new book contains a great deal of history and a positive picture of Arkansas people.

Pat is passionate about genealogy and loves being an Arkansan. Both have been wonderful resources for her writing. She resides near the Greensboro community, a town frequently mentioned in the Shiloh Saga. Greensboro, no longer a town, is adjacent to Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Her best gift to the world is her daughter, Tara, to whom she has dedicated her last book. Tara and her family, Kennedy, Noah, and Kinley are her greatest treasures. Her career in education, her writing, and her family have been blessings from God.
