A community dialogue event hosted by the Community Foundation of Faulkner County and facilitated by staff from the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute as part of the Civic Arkansas initiative.
Civic Arkansas is the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute’s initiative to improve the civic health of Arkansas by leveraging a network of civic organizations across the state and empowering communities and citizens to practice collaborative problem-solving at the local level. The Institute wants to hear from all Arkansans about the good things happening in their communities and learn about barriers to participating in voting, volunteering, and community meetings.

This Civic Arkansas listening session hosted by the Community Foundation of Faulkner County is part of a series of conversations happening around the state facilitated by Winthrop Rockefeller Institute staff. The goal of the listening session is to engage as many people from as many backgrounds as possible to share the magnificent work happening in towns, cities, and counties to improve the lives of Arkansans and build social connectedness. We will also discuss barriers keeping individuals from volunteering, organizing neighborhood or community events, meeting city officials, participating in local government, and registering and exercising the right to vote. All are welcome to attend the 90-minute interactive discussion, and refreshments will be provided.
--
The session is 90 minutes, and will provide opportunities for anonymous input, individual answers and some small group discussions. Any questions about the listening sessions or Civic Arkansas can be directed to me at akennard@rockefellerinstitute.org
