Join us for an afternoon celebrating the life of Arkansas artist John Bell, Jr.
You are invited for an afternoon celebrating local artist and accessibility advocate, John Bell, Jr. His daughter, Lisa Wilson, will share excerpts from her memoir about her father, his life as an artist and living with cerebral palsy, and his advocacy work as accessibility laws were coming on the books. Doors open at 2:00 pm for a signing and meet-and-greet with the author and the reading will begin at 2:30 pm.

About the book:
Can You See My Dust? Tales of the adventurous life of John Bell Jr. is a memoir written by Lisa Bell-Wilson about her father, John Bell Jr., an artist who lived with cerebral palsy. The book explores his life, his artistic journey, and his experiences growing up before accessibility laws were in place. Themes of the book include overcoming adversity, the power of artwork, and the importance of disability rights.

About the author:
Lisa Bell-Wilson is the daughter of artist John Bell Jr. and wife Maxine. Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, she was raised in Fort Smith. She followed in her father's footsteps and works with individuals with disabilities providing advocacy and job services. Mrs. Bell-Wilson lives in Conway, Arkansas with her husband DeWayne.
The Conway library serves as the headquarters library for the county sytem of six libraries as well as the Faulkner County–Van Buren County Regional Library.
