Join Conway art advocate and educator Katy Killingsworth for art adventures this summer! Each process-oriented session will explore a different art technique.
Art Adventures will feature a focus project each week. Here's a schedule of what will be covered:
June 7 - Animal Agamographs - Draw and color animals and learn a fun way to make your art transform! Create artwork of an animal (real or mythic) and see how cutting, folding, and gluing techniques transform the drawing based on the angle it is viewed.
June 14 - Katy K. will not be here but Katie S. will lead an exploration of cross-stitching with various thread based projects.
June 21 - Radial Design to color and stamp - Explore radial symmetry through two techniques, including creating a foam stamp with radial design.
July 12 - Using air-dry clay, participants will create a miniature entrance to a fantastical world by making fairy doors and dragon eyes.
July 19 - Weaving - Explore two types of weaving with yarn; a coil basket and a simple loom.
July 26 - Gelli Printmaking - create a fun, unique, and unexpected monoprint using acrylic paint.
